The Duchess stood in her chambers, hands on her hips, looking down at her husband. Tilly tried to make herself invisible in the corner of the room, hoping that they would not see her. She had only seen them as beautiful creatures when she had seen them on the steps, but now she was seeing them as angry, and unhappy, as they spoke to each other. They had been arguing like this since she had arrived to clean the grate, and she had done her best to avoid them noticing, worried that they might turn their anger towards the intruder.
