Christian Romance: Mystic Summer [Contemporary Christian Romance] by Emily Christian
Christian Romance: Mystic Summer [Contemporary Christian Romance]

Tara Michaels: A baker who inherited her mother’s deli shop when she passed away from cancer 3 years ago. Straight, light blonde hair, deep blue eyes and loves the outdoors.

Bryan DeLuca: Financial Analyst for a large corporation in New York. Used to working 80 work weeks and strives to be the best of his field. Smart, driven, sarcastic (when relaxed) but doesn’t know how to slow down.

Summary:

After finding out he was passed over for yet another promotion, Bryan DeLuca get’s a call from a lawyer explaining that he has inherited his grandfathers’ Lake Tahoe home. Upon coming back to his high-rise condo, he’s informed black mold has been found in his apartment and he needs to vacate immediately. He decides he could use an extended vacation and he packs up and takes off for South Lake Tahoe.

Tara loves her job and she lives and breathes the outdoors and sees South Lake Tahoe as the perfect place to live. One day at Tara's deli shop, Bryan comes in and is demanding the wifi password because he can’t figure out where his house is and there is no cell service. They get in a slight confrontation and she finally relents, but she’s very annoyed with him and his rudeness.

The next morning while she’s running to the lake, Tara sees a man who appears to be breaking into Ronald DeLuca’s place only to find it’s the angry wifi customer, Bryan, from the day before. Their conversation is tense but she relents a little because she liked Ronald DeLuca and feels she should cut his grandson some slack. She helps him but they obviously don’t “get along” even though they are intrigued about one another.

During the course of the week Bryan realizes that he is tired of eating frozen dinners. He goes to Tara's deli shop and makes up for his poor first impression while engaging in a pleasant conversation with Tara and her friend, Cecilia.

Later on, Tara realizes that the finances for the bakery aren’t what they should be – she’s not the best manager of her money, wishing instead to spend her time outdoors and to give whatever she can to those who need it. She is in some serious financial trouble.

Cecilia tells Tara that she needs to ask Bryan for help with her finances. But it’s the last thing Tara want’s to do. Tara faces the end of her dream – the flourishing of her mother’s bakery. She now see’s that her mother was the same way, generous to a fault. She didn’t have savings and always relied on the Lord to provide and now Tara must trust God in the same way.
