Desmond was walking out in the woods, his feet bare on the ground. When he reached the area he liked to sit in in order to contemplate his life, he heard a branch crack and looked around suspiciously.
“Somebody there?” He asked into the emptiness.
Nobody answered, and he peered out into the trees, trying to pinpoint where the sound had come from. He simply couldn’t though, and so he dismissed the noise and settled against his favorite tree, looking out over the rest of the forest.
