I had fallen for Derek Sholts. I had fallen for a dying man.

I didn’t know why, and I didn’t know how. But I had.

And I certainly didn’t love it, but I did love him; and loving him meant appreciating every moment, trusting him when trusting him seemed bleak; and being aware of the fact that no matter how much I did trust him, he was sure to leave me. Whether he wanted to or not. But no matter how much i did love him, and no matter how much I really was aware of it, I couldn’t accept it.
