Mail Order Bride: The Blind Piano Teacher From New York: A Clean Victorian Western Historical Romance by Helen Keating
This is a 15,500-word novelette. A blind woman from New York is growing older and fears of becoming a lonely spinster. She makes a living by giving piano lessons and helps her younger sister with the daily chores of the house. With the help of her sister, she decides to find love through a mail order bride advertisement from a widower cowboy father, whom lives with his young son in California. She has kept her blindness a secret from him throughout their exchanges of letters, out of fear that he may reject her. The cowboy never thought he could love anyone again after the death of his wife, or find a good mother figure for his son. After arriving in California to meet the cowboy, the woman realizes that it will take some work to win over both men, but is up to the worthwhile challenge.
