Bitterroot Mesa by Elle Marie Morgan
Cat McGavin has packed up her clothes, her dog, and her broken heart and moved back home to Conner's Crossing. The sincerity of life-long friendships and the slower pace of small-town living beckons beyond her ability to ignore them. She wants to plant a garden, refurbish her cabin, slow down, and examine her life.
The cabin is tucked on the shore of upper Memory Lake where today the weather is unseasonably warm. She can't remember how long it's been since she dived, alone and unseen, into the cool water. She is home.Today she is going to swim.
Too late she sees a figure near the lone house on the other side of the lake; a house that has been empty for months...
