Alana was adopted by her aunt and uncle when her parents were tragically killed in a fire. They have a daughter of their own, the very beautiful reckless and fickle Fanny. Alana pales in comparison to Fanny’s beauty, but Alana is kind with a beautiful soul. In a fit of fancy, Fanny writes to a rancher in Texas to become a mail order bride. Fanny soon gets bored and runs away with a young lawyer in town. This is much to the horror of her mother who blames Alana for Fanny’s flighty action.
