How does an English Regency widow find herself in the wild Carpathian Mountains?

When Isabel Beldan leaves her beloved England, and hopefully the pain of her losses behind her, she finds herself and her small company forced to take refuge from a torrid storm in an imposing, high mountain castle of Moldavia.

At first, the elusive and enigmatic lord of Caldania Castle seems hardly more than a ghost of a man who haunts his own halls. But Isabel soon discovers there is something quite more to him than the haunting of his halls. She begins to realize that Lucian Tiurean is no mere mortal man, but one with frightening powers and an inexplicable interest in her. Now she is all too afraid her heart is becoming hopelessly ensnared in the web of delusion he is weaving around her.
