Letters Away: A Love Story

Imagine your life before cell phones, computers, TVs, text messaging or even social media. Imagine you only had one way to communicate and that was through the written word. Sitting down and carefully writing out a letter to someone near and dear to you that was fighting far away on foreign shores. Those letters might take days, weeks or even months to reach them. You have no idea what’s happening with that other person. Every day you wait with anticipation for the postman to come, almost holding your breath and you wonder if today will be the day that another letter will arrive... Tick tock! Tick tock! Tick tock... Days go by and still no letter. Then weeks and you begin to wonder if you’ll ever receive another one. Then finally!! The mail man knocks on your door and hands you that precious lifeline! Getting that letter means he’s still alive. Your heart is pounding out of your chest as you rip open that letter from the one person you know in your heart, you can’t live without!!!
Synopsis: Follow Jacob and Belle, two high school sweethearts separated after Jacob is drafted into the Korean war in 1951. Their story is a tale of timeless love, in an era of innocence long forgotten. Watch as they fall deeper in love the closer Jacob gets to leaving to fight in a war where he and Belle could lose everything. Through a series of beautifully written letters, we see them as children who start off as enemies; until the summer Jacob saves Belle from drowning.
