A Pride and Prejudice variation. Elizabeth Bennet Fitzwilliam was born and raised in Belgium, where she met and married Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam. When he is killed in battle, Elizabeth moves to England, to an estate near her uncle, Thomas Bennet, and his family. Meeting Elizabeth as her ship arrives on English shores, Fitzwilliam Darcy is determined to protect his cousin's widow from the rest of the Fitzwilliam family. Richard's family were not pleased when he married against their wishes, and they are determined to take out their fury on Elizabeth.
