Possessed by the Savage by India Heath
The year is 1865, and the carriage in which the spirited Caroline is travelling in is attacked by Cheyenne Indians and she is taken captive by the Indian Chief, Golden Eagle. He is not impressed by Caroline's arguing and pouting, foot-stamping and attempts at escape - and he deals with such behaviour by administering a firm spanking!

Golden Eagle is not like the other warriors - he is white skinned with blond hair, and Caroline learns that after the death of his mother he was sent to live with his Cheyenne father, Grey Cloud, chief of the tribe. It is clear that Golden Eagle wants Caroline for his own, but Caroline has difficulty adjusting to her changed circumstances: she is made to dress like an Indian squaw and is expected to help the other women around the camp, some of whom are very suspicious of the white woman in their midst. She also has difficulty in learning to be obedient, and constantly pays the price on her bottom with Golden Eagle's inventive punishments. Nevertheless, her attraction to the Indian chief grows, and as time passes she delights in his company - so when her life takes a new and unexpected direction, she is distraught. Will Golden Eagle rescue her...?

The inspiration for this novella came from the short story, Savage Possession.
