Maiden Voyage: Book One Heart of the Seas

Former Coast Guard captain, Meryl Sinclair is excited for the first voyage of Castellon Cruise's newest ship, The Heart of the Sea. She has a good staff that she's hand-picked and in some cases, cherry-picked from the finest ocean liners in the business. It should be smooth sailing.

Except Rafe Castellon, the owner's gorgeous son, has decided to come along and micromanage— or as he says, get away from it all—on her first cruise as Captain of a luxury ship. That would have been fine, except Rafe was expecting to be named Captain of this ship and she's afraid he's got an axe to grind to go with that chip on his shoulder. Rafe has a history of drinking hard, throwing cash around like it's water, and going through women like he changes his shirts. Meryl should know. She once spent a week's leave with him enjoying the good life until she had to get back to her base.

While her crew and the passengers are getting their sea legs, Meryl is working on establishing routines, but Rafe is a distraction both personally and professionally. After he saves her from a drunk passenger determined to take Meryl overboard with him, she realizes that there is more to the playboy than appears. When she realizes the cause of the facade Rafe shows the outside world, she has to steel herself from falling in love and settles for another two weeks of his life. But Rafe has other plans.
