The Christmas Candle Girl by Rosie Darling
Every Christmas Gracie Fellows would push her cart full of Christmas candles through the harsh snow covered streets of Victorian London. Despite her tender years she knew that the coins she would make selling them to the wealthy would sustain her and her war injured father for the year.

Gracie was not the only child who relied on the rich market-shoppers for a livelihood. David Ellis led the gang of young boys who pick-pocketed and survived opportunistically on the streets. They saw the little scrap of a candle seller as easy pickings.

Gracie's life changed that December day when the kindly Ivy Cromwell came upon Gracie selling her wares, and her son Bram rescued Gracie from the thieves. From that Christmas onward, the lives of the Cromwells and Gracie became intricately intertwined. But somehow there was always the thief boy, David, lurking in the winter shadows.

Three different lives brought together by Christmas candles. Three influencing one another over the course of childhood, until adulthood brought with it the complications of love and betrayal, death and survival.  Who would prove to be 'the one', the only, the true friend through thick and thin?

A Christmas tale of growing up and surviving in a harsh, unrelenting world, where money and position mean more than character and integrity. Or do they?
