Elizabeth Bennet is offended by Mr. Darcy when he snubs her dearest sister at the assembly and cannot hold her tongue but he is fascinated by her and a friendship develops. A family secret prevents Darcy from marrying Elizabeth but he falls in love nonetheless while Elizabeth believes her sister likes Darcy while finding him unpleasant in appearances.
