Three's a Crowd by Dani Deveaux
When Jesse, the older of two brothers, is offered a job in another state for a few weeks, he is determined to hire a live-in personal assistant for his younger brother, Shawn. Nearly two years earlier, Shawn was injured in a self-inflicted car accident, leaving him paralyzed in a wheelchair. Shawn is anxious about his brother leaving for the job, but he is opposed to hiring someone to live in his house and assist him if necessary while Jesse is gone.
In Shawn's opinion, a prospective applicant in the form of a young woman appears to be even less of an option. She is beautiful and upbeat and Shawn cannot bear the thought of her assisting him in his daily living with the life-changing disability he is still struggling with. Hannah has a painful secret, and when she meets Shawn and Jesse, she is torn between all sorts of emotions. The two brothers turn Hannah’s life upside down.
The same is true for Jesse and Shawn as they meet Hannah. She is a lot more than they bargained for, and she threatens the solid bond between the brothers. Shawn’s initial hostility is a way to cover up his insecurities, but Hannah is drawn to him even more so and tries to break through the walls Shawn has built around him. Jesse, who is kind and attractive, disrupts Hannah’s strong emotional and physical pull toward Shawn. As the three have to figure out a way to make this situation work, Shawn and Jesse are tested in their relationship as brothers, and Hannah is forced to reveal to Shawn the painful burden she has carried around her entire life. A terrible fate strikes once again in the brother’s life, and they realize that only together they can get through yet another obstacle in their life.
