Badger Valley A Holiday Anthology

John and Eloise Badger had settled in Alaska on a large piece of land, purchased from the United States government, in 1868, where they raised their ten children.
As the years went on, more people moved to the relatively unknown area, looking to settle their own families and set up their business for success.
Nestled between the snowy peaks of the Arctic foothills and the banks of the Yukon River, it became known as Badger Valley, the little town with a population of five hundred eighty-three.
The weather could be harsh, with temperatures reaching as low as negative forty-five degrees Fahrenheit in the winter months and snowfall from two and a half feet in the valley to a couple of dozen feet on the tops of the mountains. But for everyone living in Badger Valley, the beauty of the area and the eclectic people and wildlife made up for it.
