In the hollers of Eastern Kentucky, as the hot steamy air of the summer gave way to the cooler days of the approaching winter, two young souls were joined together in marriage. Trevor Markel’s life was never easy as a child, abuse and near starvation were not foreign to him. Nightmares were a reality in his young life. Leaving home at the age of 15, he would do almost anything to keep from being poor again. His good looks and smarts would serve him well in his hunt for freedom from the misery in which he came to know in the hollers, but the scars of his past would haunt him forever.
Wanda Carver was a beauty of the Appalachia. She heard the calling from the big city in the north and would not settle for the small time life in the mountains. She ached for the bright lights and fun times of city life. Her determination to have everything she wanted would prove to be more than anyone could ever imagine.
Together they could have it all if they played their cards right.
