Battles Abroad: The Norsemen's War: Book Two - Tor & Kyle by Kris Tualla
1944 – Camp Hale, Colorado - the Tenth Mountain Division
American soldiers skied behind German lines in the Italian Alps...

Tor Hansen was set to compete in the 1940 Winter Olympics before Hitler started a massive war. But when the Nazis occupied Norway in a 5-hour siege on April 9, 1940 Tor enlisted in the Norwegian Army. Now the American Army needs it’s soldiers to learn Alpine skiing and Tor is tapped to go to Camp Hale in Colorado to train a regiment of novice skiers — a task he is ready and eager to tackle.

Kyle Solberg has spent her entire life in the tiny town of Viking, Minnesota, so when the opportunity arises for her to join the WAC and act as the translator for a Norwegian captain she leaves her fiancé behind and takes it. Kyle loves her new life but the Norwegian captain proves problematic. When Americans help German POWs escape from Camp Hale, Tor proves his worth as a soldier. So much so, that he’s mustered out with the Americans to join the dangerous fight in Italy.

Amazon Reviews for The Hansen Series:

“The characters are flawed (like all of us) but fascinating and complex. Glad this book is part of a series so I can read more.”

“I was expecting a typical historical romance but the setting was not the usual. I look forward to the next one.”

“Interesting and romantic, without being cheesy. Great characters and historically correct with a good plot line.”
