The Unbelievable Queen of Hearts by Nellie K. Neves
He's trouble. Trouble used to be my favorite past time. I've grown up since then, or at least I thought I had.

Victoria leads a normal, average, respectable life, at least on the surface. When wayward bad boy, Maverick, starts coming around her food truck, that life becomes complicated.

Constantly smothered by her family’s expectations and guilt for the sins of her past, Victoria feels like she might burst. Leading a double life isn’t easy. All the secrets she’s been keeping are bound to come out one way or another. When old threats rise to the surface, it’s not only Victoria caught in the crosshairs, but everyone she cares about.

Maverick’s heart has always pulled for the open road, but something about Victoria keeps him anchored, and it’s not just her cooking. He’s met with walls when he tries to get close to her, but life has taught him determination, and the pain in her eyes keeps him trying to break through. After a lifetime of searching, she might be the one to keep him grounded.

Secrets run deep on Cartwright Ranch, but Victoria’s might ruin everything. With Dark Fox closing in, she needs an ally, but is Maverick worth the risk? Facing the past means admitting the truth, and she may not be strong enough to weather the storm.

The second book in the Cartwright Ranch series, following Kennedy's older sister, Victoria. This is a clean romantic suspense story with no swearing, explicit scenes, or cheating. If it were a movie, it would be PG-13. No cliffhangers. Each story in the Cartwright Ranch series is a standalone novel, but will make more sense if they're read in order.
