Penny Waters has given up on the idea of finding Mr. Right. Her friend, and fellow college professor, Kevin Patton, is similarly disenchanted with the single life. Neither of them wants to grow old alone, though. Getting married to each other seems like the perfect solution.

Once the decision is made, there seems no reason to wait, but Penny has always dreamed of her wedding day, and she won’t sacrifice the things she wants simply because of the circumstances. She calls on Douglas Holloway, who manages multiple properties around Ramsey, to help her plan her special day.

Wedding planning soon fills Penny’s schedule and the annual Haunted House Trail threatens to derail all of her plans. She doesn’t have time to fall in love with Douglas, no matter how attractive he may be.
