83 amazing romance books about women-loving women

What are wlw romance books all about?

In romance books, the terms 'sapphic', 'wlw' or 'f/f' are used to refer to romantic relationships between two or more women. 'f/f' stands for 'female/female', and 'wlw' is a shorthand for 'women-loving woman'. Even though the female protagonists in these books can be either lesbian, bisexual, or pansexual girls, the central love story will be between women.

F/F romance can be found across all other subgenres, including contemporary romance, historical romance and romance books set in the future.

Stories may focus on the unique challenges and experiences of LGBTQ+ characters, and might deal with difficult topics such as queerphobia and sexism. However, there are many lighthearted, heat-warming and optimistic wlw romance books as well.
