Everyone thought this was a passing phase since he was so young, and at the time, she was almost twice his age. However, as the years slipped by, his love and devotion for her only grew strong. Then one day, when he became a great warrior and counted enough coup to be permitted to select a wife, he went straight to Chief Falcon and asked for Little Fawn. The two joined and had a wonderful life. The Creator even blessed them with a son; they named Ahanu (He Laughs). After Wildcat was voted as chief, when Chief Flying Eagle stepped down, things seemed to be working out for the Southern Piegan Blackfoot. They had peace for a few winters and felt confident they would continue along this path. However, that confidence in the future ended abruptly with the appearance of the white man. They claimed the Great White Father bought all the Native’s lands, which the tribes could not understand. How could anyone trade for lands that did not belong to the one trading it? The Natives believed the lands were the Creators, so how could a man do something like this. The tribes were at first excited to see new people, but that did not last long when they found out how greedy the new white tribes were. But the real trouble started when part of an exploration group got lost and ended up in the Blackfoot territory. There they saw and talked to the white woman, Sara. They claimed she was being held against her will and would not accept it when she said she was there because she wanted to be. The white leader could not understand why a white woman would want to live with savages. Word reached her brother that she was alive and living with a tribe in the Teton Mountain range. He offers a reward for her return, which brought all sorts of men into the Indian territory, as the white man called it. To find out what happens between these white men and the Blackfoot tribe, read Wildcat, Next Generation Blackfoot Confederation. less

He was just been raised in status from runner to scout. This is a big step for any warrior. However, life has a way of binging more storms to us than we can sometimes cope with. Blackbird is the son of two white people that came to live with the Blackfoot tribe when they were very young. Because of the tight bond, they formed so many years earlier; they were joined when they grew up. Sara, the woman who fought for the right to raise the two children, is also white and is the grandmother to Blackbird. When the white man shows up outside the Blackfoot village, Sara goes to talk to them. They realize she is white, and of course, she would have to be held captive since she refuses to go with them. The leader of the white group reports this, and William, Sara’s brother, thinks this white woman might be his sister. He offers a reward to anyone that can bring his sister back to him. This causes all kinds of problems for Sara and her village. That is when Blackbird decides he needs to do something about it and comes up with a plan to save his grandmother. He will dress like the white man and go to where Sara’s brother lives. He hopes that if he explains that Sara is happy where she is and does not want to come back, he will cancel the reward, and everyone will stop searching for her. However, plans never go as they are thought to. Will Blackbird find the answer he needs to save his grandmother? What else will Blackbird find on his journey? Read Blackbird the second book in the Next Generation Blackfoot Confederation Series. You may be surprised. less

His best friend, Blackbird, had asked Fire Spirit to accompany him north into Canada on a quest to find Blackbird’s grandmother’s brother. The small group of warriors went to the Siksika village near the town where this brother was supposed to be living. While there, Blackbird met the love of his life and joined with her. Now Fire Spirit felt totally alone. Blackbird was the last of his close friends to join. Fire Spirit met a beautiful maiden while he was in the Siksika village, and for some reason, he could not get her out of his head. Fire Spirit was asked to escort Sara’s brother back to Canada after Matt had a short visit with his sister. Fire Spirit decided to go see My Heart Sings in the Siksika village and ask her to join with him. However, things in life are never as easy as they seem.
